The first Three Appearances!
Back in early June I was honored to be invited to attend the Maxwell Pre-K graduation ceremony. My co-workers granddaughter was one of the graduating pre-k students and she asked me to not only come to their ceremony but to also be the deliverer of her Birthday party invitations to her classmates. She was having a birthday party on June 25,2011 at the Pink Pastry Parlor in Norcross, GA which is a cute party venue for little girls. It's basically a spa for little princesses. The pre-k performed several little musical numbers they had learned over the course of the school year for us. It was absolutely adorable, then they presented a slideshow with pictures that had been taken throughout the year. I was so honored to have been asked to attend. After the slideshow we ate cupcakes and I delivered the invitations to the little girls invited to the party. They were so excite, I think more so about the party than me, but then I let each little girl try on my crown and we took pictures and talked about their summer plans. It was truly a terrific start to my duty of appearances as a USA's Pageants titleholder.
My second appearance I went to visit Children's Hospital Urgent care center in Duluth, GA. I had brought the employees Krispie Kreme Doughtnuts. They are the people who take care of us when our normal doctors aren't available. And without them we would be completely lost, and more so sick. I wanted to show my appreciation to them for working the long hard hours they work and being so warm and welcoming to each and every patient. Growing up I broke a lot of bones, and I actually had gone to this particular Children's quite often, in fact the staff knew me by first name then. So now as a grown up I wanted to reach out and say thank you for being there when I needed you to be, even though the staff was not the same staff as it was when I was a patient. I also spent quite a bit of time in the waiting room with the sick children reading stories to them. There is something about a good book that makes a childs eyes light up with imagination no matter how they are feeling, sick, sad, or even angry. By the time I was done they all had a smile of their face and in fact one told me my story made her feel a little bit better, but she still felt she needed to see the doctor just to be sure. It was the cutest thing I had ever heard.
My third appearance, I was so excited to be allowed the opportunity to read to the children at the Gwinnett County Public Library, Grayson Branch yesterday July 20, 2011. By this time I had competed in the National Royal Elite Pageant and had earned my Divisional National title and the overall National Title. Mrs. Ruth Parker introduced me with all three amazing titles. There were about 8 children who came just to see me. We read about 3 books, all of course were princess themed. My overall favorite book was " Not all princesses were Pink" It was about all the different types of princesses, ones who played in mud, played sports, hated shoes, anything and everything but even though they didn't all wear the color pink they all had one thing in common, a sparkly crown. It truly is great book! I think the moral of the story is you can be who ever you want to be and do whatever you want to do if you put your mind to it and still be a princess. The librarians were such amazing people. They were so helpful in guiding me to present my stories well and keep the kids interested and they offered any help and suggestions I needed. By far an amazing experience. I cannot wait to see what my next big adventure will be. To be continued.... :)
With love and hugs

June 24-25, 2011 USA's National Royal Elite 2011 Pageant... This is how it all went down
Hi, my name is Ashley Jeffers and I am your new USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite, USA's Miss Royal Elite and USA's Supermodel of the Year 2011. On April 30th, 2011 I was crowned USA's Supermodel of the Year 2011 at the USA's Miss Georgia State Pageant, I was also 1st Runner up for the title of USA's Miss Georgia 2011.
As a titleholder I excelled on to USA's National Royal Elite Pageant on June 24-25, 2011 at the Doubletree Hotle in Roswell, Georgia for a chance to compete with some of the most amazing women for the title of USA's Miss Royal Elite 2011 and for the overall ultimate title of USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite 2011. The competition was fierce at Nationals. These girls were not only beautiful but they were all so genuinely kind and considerate. Of course I was competing with my sister queen Samantha Pinson, USA's Miss Georgia 2011, and Cheney Thomasson, USA's Teen Miss Georgia 2011, but there were also some new faces from all of the country. All contestants were so amazingly beautiful and nice. It's a guarantee to have a good time especially when all the contestants are as friendly and fun as they were at this years nationals.
The day of the pageant I was completely and utterly nervous, my interview was that morning and I walked out feeling good about it but I definitely did not feel like I hit it out of the ball park. It was just a so-so. And with time running behind I was so stressed about not being able to shower so I could have fresh hair and make-up for the actual pageant. But the show must go on and I had to do the best with what I had to work with, flat hair and caked make-up so I got busy. I curled my hair and teased it over and over until I got the right amount of volume and curl I was happy with. Did my make up and the show began.
We walked the walk and talked the talked in the opening number and introductions. Following introductions we competed in Fun Fashion, aka Red Carpet Glamour. I wore a Tony Bowls hi-low turquoise dress with a cheetah print underskirt. I absolutely LOVED this dress. When I first saw it I knew then and there it was the perfect dress to wear for this part in the competition. Finally we competed in Evening Gown and had our onstage question. I wore a bubble gum pink gown with a sweetheart neck line and a slick to my upper thigh. I've had this dress for quite some time and it just makes me feel like a celebrity at an awards show everytime I wear it.
My onstage question: "What do I think is the biggest challenge facing young women today"
My answer: "Self image, we need to be teaching our young women to be confident in themselves and to see that beauty is not just on the inside it's more so on the outside."
I walked off the stage feeling like I nailed it. (not that I won the pageant, but that I had succeeded in a competition phase I typically flop on) I was so proud of myself and my answer. I usually scramble and think too much with onstage questions but this time I just opened my mouth and let it all flow out smoothly and calmly without really thinking about how to answer. That in itself it a win to me.
Crowning: This is probably my most dreaded part of the whole day, it's a waiting game and the longer you wait the more nervous you get. My issue is I always start to wonder well how did the other girls do, and I start comparing myself to anything and everything, not something anyone should ever do! When they got to the Miss Division we all stepped up and they handed out optional awards then 2nd runner up and 1st Runner up. Jessica Bulter and I were the last two standing, I was shaking in my knees! Then my name was called as USA's Miss Royal Elite 2011. I was thrilled. The competition was definitely fierce so I was shocked to have heard I won. I just can't explain the happiness and excitement that was going through me. We took pictures and then waited for the MS. Division to be crowned and for the overall Ultimate Miss Royal Elite to be crowned
USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite 2011: Ok, so honestly, and I mean this whole heartedly, I never in my life imagined I even had a chance to have win the Ultimate title. I had won my division and I was thrilled but I didn't think I could have won the over all title. For those of you who don't know, USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite is an optional crowning that we could enter and the person with the highest scores out of the entire pageant would be crowned the winner.
Because I had already won the Miss Division Title I just assumed I didn't win the Ultimate so I kind of steared to the back to watch from a distance because honestly my feet were KILLING ME and I wanted to get my pictures taken and get out of those heels! So needless to say when my name was announced as USA'S Ultimate Miss Royal Elite 2011 I was beyond speechless. I even started to tear up because WOW what an honor to walk away not only with a divisional title but an overall title as well. I was so overwhelmed.
And as my first duty as USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite 2011 I was given the honor to crown Victorie and Kristen as USA's Grand Miss Royal Elite 2011 and USA's Grand Jr Miss Royal Elite 2011. I was shaking uncontrolably, not gonna lie it was pretty funny.
I am so thrilled to be given the three titles I have. And as a titleholder I am given the opportunity to use my crown to make a difference. Each titleholder is required to make 12 appearances throughout their reign. Appearances can be anything we set our hearts out to do whether is it emceeing for local pageants, promoting our platforms, volunteering, visiting the childrens hospitals, or even riding along in a parade, I could go on for days. Given that I now have 3 titles with USA's Pageants I have 36 appearances I will make throughout my reign. It's definitely a challenge needless to say but it's a challenge I am so excited to take on and begin my journey as USA's Ultimate Miss Royal Elite 2011, USA's Miss Royal Elite 2011 and USA's Supermodel of the Year 2011.
I promise to represnt USA's Pageants with confidence, poise and grace not only at my appearances but on a daily basis as well. I hope to encourage women of all ages to join the USA's Pageant family while promoting my platform of Ovarian Cancer Awareness and USA's Pageant Platform, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and local animal shelters.
I ask you to not only join me in my journey through this blog but to join USA's Pageants journey to making this system such an encouraging and strong system giving beautiful women the chance to make a difference with their crowns.
